White Party Welcome Dinner: Santa Barbara Polo Club

Events

Since the groom plays polo, starting Christina and Will’s Wedding Weekend with a polo match on the Santa Barbara Polo club’s field felt just right. Guests arrived dressed head to toe in white. Christina stood out in a flowing pale blue organza dress, and Will wore a tan linen jacket. We captured golden-hour portraits on the field against the club’s green grandstands, and they reflected the relaxed, sunlit feel of the whole evening.

A Butterfly-Themed Dinner Tent with Soft White Draping

Dinner was served in a tent lined in soft white draping, finished with a scalloped edge and a herringbone floor. A brass chandelier with white shades hung at the center, with sculptural ruffled pendants on either side. The round tables were dressed in blue linens with dimensional white butterflies and surrounded by white cane-back bistro chairs.

Garden-Style Centerpieces and Butterfly Place Settings

We kept the centerpieces low and garden-style, mixing white hydrangea, garden roses, ranunculus, lilac, scabiosa, and Queen Anne’s lace with touches of yellow oncidium orchids and solidago. Each place setting had a clear charger, white-handled flatware, and a white napkin with pom-pom trim, topped with a butterfly menu and a butterfly-shaped place card. White fluted candle holders, glass votives, and blue table numbers kept everything soft and cohesive.

Custom Beer Labels and an Ice Cream Cart Overlooking the Polo Field

The white bar was topped with an airy arrangement of hydrangea, ranunculus, and cascading yellow orchids. In a fun nod to the couple’s new last name, the bar served beer with custom “The Busch” and “Mr. & Mrs. Busch” labels, a detail that carried into the wedding day. For dessert, an ice cream cart from A La Carte Santa Barbara sat under a fringed white umbrella overlooking the field, with waffle cones and all the toppings.

Christina and Will, thank you for letting us kick off your wedding weekend with you. What a perfect way to begin.

Closing & Vendors

This Santa Barbara Polo Club welcome dinner set a light, joyful tone for the weekend ahead, with just enough equestrian spirit to hint at what was to come. To see how the weekend continued, check out Christina and Will’s equestrian garden wedding in Montecito!
