For Lindsay and Robert’s wedding day, they had both their ceremony and reception at the Belmond El Encanto‘s Lily Pond, and while guests enjoyed cocktail hour in a different space, we transformed the Lily Pond into the dinner space. Sometimes couples love a particular location so much that they want to have both their ceremony and reception there. Although flipping a space comes with challenges, it can be so worth it! Natalie Bray captured this gorgeous autumnal wedding beautifully!

Bella Vista Designs installed luxe velvet draping in the courtyard, enveloping the space in a dramatic yet warm feeling. This was an aesthetic decision as well as a practical one because with the draping, we were able to conceal the pre-set dinner tables!

Ceremony

In leu of a traditional wedding arch, Lindsay and Robert opted for lush urn arrangements on large pillars. Guests arrived and sipped champagne then found their seats around the Lilly Pond on comfy chairs. The string quartet played while Lindsay walked down the aisle which in this case, is a wood bridge across the Lilly pond.

Reception

While guests sipped cocktails in a nearby space on the property, the Belmond team skillfully carried and placed the pre-set tables. Our team worked on the finishing touches, straightening chairs and lighting candles. The tables were so beautiful with alternating green and white dishes, upholstered chairs, and luxe beige velvet linens, all from Theoni. We then ushered in the guests, who were delighted to find the space transformed so quickly!

To find their table assignments, guests opened vellum envelopes with their names on them to find custom watercolored postcards made by K Designs, with thoughtfully written notes from the bride and groom. The gold flaked menus were also custom designs made by K Designs.

We covered the Lily Pond bridge with candles and loved how the water reflected the glimmering candlelight, it made the space feel especially romantic. The lush urns that framed the couple as they said their vows at ceremony, now framed their head table.
