Tiny Wedding at Groom’s Family Farm in Santa Barbara

When I started working with Rebecca and Justin, we were planning a large wedding on a private beach for 200 guests.  But, when the world started to change due to COVID-19, we quickly realized we would need to shift our plans.  Rather than wait a year to celebrate, Rebecca and Justin knew they wanted to get married, so we made it happen for them.
They hosted the wedding at the groom’s family farm.  It was so romantic!  The ceremony took place in the back yard.  Only their two immediate families attended. To make the space feel full (and also have plenty of space), we used moroccan benches instead of traditional chairs.  We surrounded the benches with lush greenery and pampas grass so the space felt intimate.  The tree at the far end of the yard was the focal point – we created a floral arrangement with greenery, roses, succulents, and air plants that “grew” up the tree, and then created a large half circle with over 100 candles.  Small glass spheres hung from the tree with additional candles.  The ceremony took place at sunset with all of the candles twinkling in the golden light – it was so romantic! ​
Dinner for the immediate family took place in a barn that the groom helped his grandfather build when he was younger.  It was a complete transformation.  We covered the ceiling in twinkle lights, greenery, and hanging candles.  We draped the walls, covered the floor in carpet, and set a beautiful table so the family could enjoy an intimate meal together.  The musicians played (distanced and masked, of course) as the family enjoyed a beautiful evening together.  

It wasn’t the original plan, but man!  It was perfect.
