Black-Tie Rooftop Wedding at Hotel Californian
Lindsay + Matt were married at Hotel Californian in downtown Santa Barbara. Like most couples who originally planned to get married in 2020, the planning process was quite the rollercoaster. But, I will say that when we finally got to the final wedding day plan, it was absolutely perfect.
They said their vows in front of their immediate family and closest friends on the rooftop at Hotel Californian, overlooking the Santa Barbara coastline. We only had 45 minutes to construct their entire chuppah, so it took all hands on deck to build the structure and arrange the flowers. The final design was absolutely beautiful. Not an eye was dry as Lindsay walked down the aisle with her parents. A traditional Jewish wedding ceremony was performed under the chuppah. I love how the parents stand under the chuppah with the couple – such a beautiful tradition.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers, including lobster sliders – my personal favorite – as the sun set over the ocean. They were then welcomed into the ballroom, where we transformed the space with tall centerpieces, a lush fireplace installation, hundreds of candles, and acrylic details on the tables. After a four-course dinner, the guests danced the night away. Having gone through all the ups and downs of planning a wedding during a pandemic, this celebration was such a joyous occasion.
