Love their personality. Once you love their work, you need to spend some time to ensure your personalities fit. Before booking, have a video chat (or even better, meet-up for cocktails in person!) to ensure you all get along. Then, make sure you book engagement photos as a part of your package. This is the opportunity to “break the ice” before your big day. You can get to know each other and become comfortable around each other, so on the big day you don’t need to spend any time figuring out how to socially interact.
Love their style. If you find yourself thinking “I wish they would take the photos this way or edit this differently,” then they aren’t the artist for you. You need to love the work they have already created.
Make sure you get a solid referral from another vendor (especially a planner!). There are so many things that happen behind-the-scenes that couples never see on their big day. A photographer who has a great personality for clients and incredible style in their photos ALSO needs to be a great team player, working well with the timeline, communication, delivery of photos, etc.

Meet Tyler
Me and my team intentionally create bespoke celebrations for life milestones that inspire resounding joy, awe-inspiring beauty, and a deep sense of belonging and connection
I firmly believe in the beauty of carefully executed restraint, allowing the natural beauty of the venue, flowers, design details, and clients speak for themselves.
